Dossier Submitted!

Today I drove down to our adoption agencies office in Mclean, VA and dropped off our dossier after receiving our I-171H, NOTICE OF FAVORABLE DETERMINATION CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR ADVANCE PROCESSING OF ORPHAN PETITION.  That's a bureaucratic mouthful!  A copy of the form came back from being authenticated by VA today which completed our paperwork and allowed us to submit our dossier (and two full copies) to our adoption agency.  From here the agency will verify everything in it looks accurate, send it to the US Department of State to authenticate the state seals on each document, and then once they get it back they will send it to the Rwanda Embassy.  The Rwanda Embassy in the United States will authenticate that the US Dept of State seals on the documents are accurate and finally they will send it on to Rwanda!

In short, everything is out of our hands at this point assuming we don't have to change any of the paperwork during this part of the process.  Mary will probably attach pictures of our completed dossier to this post... I think she took some last night after she got most of it together (minus the form we got via FedEx at my office).
