One Year

Today marks a year gone by since our dossier arrived in Rwanda.  Some days it feels like it's been a year and other days it seems impossible for so much time to have passed. The initial excitement of making the decision to add to our family through adoption has turned into guarded anticipation of what's to come.  We look forward to meeting our daughter.  However, we also realize that our time together now, with three potty-trained, self-dressing, self-feeding, sometimes self-entertaining (enough qualifiers?) kids and a predictable routine, is fleeting and will soon enough be gone.  I don't want to run through the next several months with my eyes miles ahead, anticipating the future.  I want to amble, giving my eyes time to focus on the details right in front of me.
