OK... the fact is we don't have our referral in hand in the normal emailed form. However, we were pleased to hear last week from our agency that our referral has been completed and signed at the ministry. Since then we also received a picture, name and age of our little girl. The picture came this afternoon and after we have talked to family to explain what is going on, we decided to share with everyone else as well. Our little girl is beautiful and looks healthy and happy. I couldn't be more excited.
We are still discussing with our agency travel dates and it may be a little while before we leave, but we are getting ready as quick as possible and are eager to see our little girl. Mary and I are a little stressed that our USCIS I-600A expires in the end of October and we are just receiving the paperwork (hopefully tomorrow) for our home study update to refile... but we are going to ask USCIS if they can expedite our renewal so we don't get stuck in Africa w/o being able to take our girl home!
This adoption process has been very hard.. Mary and I at times thought there would not be a successful ending to it. This week we really feel blessed that we will be able to act on the call to adopt that God put on our hearts two years ago and have the blessing of a new little girl in our family soon.
