Home Study Signed Off

Last night, Sarah was up at 12:30am and again at 3:45am, amounting in a total loss of about 90 minutes of sleep for both her and I.  This doesn't seem like that big of a deal, except that I knew we had a very full day ahead of us.  We didn't get much school done today, but accomplished much.  Here's a rundown for my record of what my life can look like these days and for those of you in cyberland who care:

6:50  Jon out the door for Monday morning bible study group

7:15 Mary up with kids.

7:30  Breakfast

7:50-9:50  History and Math with the boys while keeping Sarah from using colored pencil on the wall and putting her on and off the potty (at her request) all morning

10:00  Drive Evan to his co-op in Leesburg

10:35  Drop Evan off at co-op and head to Herndon with Nick and Sarah to meet Jon at his office

10:55  Pick Jon up at the door of his office to head to Chevy Chase bank to get a document notarized

11:15  Arrive at Chevy Chase, speak with the branch manager, who rudely turns us away.  She won't notarize my signature because I am not an account holder, though everyone else in the family is.  Did I mention how rude I think it is to turn away people who have their documents out, have woken a sleeping baby to get said documents notarized, and are trying hard to keep their older child from telling the ENTIRE story of the book he is reading?  Rude. 

11:25  Buckle not-too-happy kids into car seats to cross the highway via the van to Bank of America.  Drag all of the kids into the bank again (not my idea--just sayin') to find out they don't have a notary on staff.

11:35  Give up and head to lunch in Herndon.... ACROSS THE STREET again!  More buckling of "getting sick of going in and out of the car" children into carseats. While eating, Jon researches possibilities for notaries in Herndon.  Thank you, Apple, for making the IPHONE.  The UPS store has a notary.  It's cheap.  It's nearby.  Thank you UPS store.  Loving the brown.

12:15 Buckle kids into carseats YET AGAIN to get to the UPS store.

12:25  Unbuckle two now mostly happy children to get our document notarized.  While we are doing that, Sarah takes advantage of the sweet little coloring table they have in the store.  We are finished in approximately 3 minutes.  That doesn't sit well with 2-year-olds who have just sat down to color.  So, we are forced to lift a floppy toddler, screaming (her, not us), out of the UPS store.

12:30  Drop Jon off at work and leave with Sarah and Nicholas for Target--big girl underwear is in order, it's on the way home, and I have an extra 30 minutes or so.  Why not?

1:30  Arrive home from Target to change diapers, meet a milk request, meet a potty request by Sarah, and think about (and forget to get) a big cup of coffee.

1:45  Leave to get Evan in Leesburg.

2:30  Arrive home from picking up Evan.  More diapers.  More potty time.  More thinking about and forgetting of coffee.

3:00  Leave for AWAA office in McLean to sign off on Home Study.

4:30  Arrive home.  Contemplating yoga, coffee, dinner, coffee, coffee, coffee....


And for those of you who are still reading (probably with your own cup of coffee in hand), how many times did the children have to get in and out of car seats today?
