Here is a list of books/authors we've read around here lately which show diversity in everything from skin color to hair color to size throughout the book.
Todd Parr books. We LOVE these books, especially "The Family Book."
Gyo Fujikawa. A great book for toddlers is "Let's Play" among others.
"'More, More, More,'" Said the Baby" by Vera B. William
The Neighborhood Mother Goose by Nancy Crews. The 2-year-old loves the "real" pictures and has learned all of her nursery rhymes with repeated readings of this book.
For Older Children (We have used these the last couple of years for school):
"Children Just Like Me."A DK book with pictures taken by Unicef team.
"Families Around the World, One Kid at a Time," by Sophie Furlaud.
"Hungry Planet: What the World Eats," by Peter Menzel.
"Material World: A Global Family Portrait," by Peter Menzel.
Happy Reading!
