Holes

I just finished the book, "Hole in Our Gospel," by Richard Stearns, the president of World Vision, which Jon wrote about in a previous post. This, coupled with a sermon series by Dr. David Platt about Radical Christianity, has really inspired and encouraged me to look further into what the Bible, and specifically Jesus Christ, has to say about taking care of the poor, hungry, persecuted, oppressed, and fatherless in our world.  If you are looking for a challenging, thought-provoking, action-inducing look the Bible's teaching on poverty and justice, these are two great resources which have left me looking deeply inward so that I can do a better job of looking broadly outward.
