Application Complete!

Yesterday we interviewed another adoption agency that also had Ethiopia and Rwanda programs.  The call went well and it seemed like a good agency overall.  The only thing that was unfortunate was they used an inquiry handler so we weren't really talking to the case worker for the country like we had at AWAA.  Also, being out of state meant we would go through a separate home study agency.  Overall, there was nothing wrong with the agency but it just felt like our hearts were on going with AWAA.  Thankfully today we got the assurance on the last piece of information we asked them by talking to Patrick Connelly, their COO/CFO.  Patrick was very helpful and I felt confident with our decision to go with AWAA by the end of the call.  Coincidentally we also had a connection since he has visited one of the ORPHANetwork partner orphanages in Nicaragua and knows Tyler who used to lead the organization as well as Tommy, who is the program director there.

After the call we played with the kids a bit and one of Evan's friends took a picture of our family on the front step, which we needed for the agency application.  After dinner and fun trip to the grocery store, letting Nicholas pick out various canned and dry goods for a food drive our church is doing while Evan added up the totals, we put the kids to bed and I finished filling out the pieces we hadn't earlier on the application.  I finished it and we signed it tonight and after copying tomorrow will put it in the mail and officially begin our journey!
