Much Done

Today was great!  Much credit to the Loudoun County Sheriff's office, where our wait for getting fingerprints was less than one minute and the whole process for both of us was finished in 20 minutes.  This was especially fortunate given it was during business hours on my first day back,  however not much email was waiting from the break as our offices were closed and most of my customers were on vacation as well.  Although the fingerprint sheets look like they are for manual fingerprinting, they have a nice fingerprint scanning machine that makes sure all the prints are captured well and then prints them back onto the sheet for you, so no ink on my hands when returning to work... very CSI-esque.  Also really helpful was a notary public at my work, Judy, who handled all the notary statements we needed for this first set of forms and agreed to work with us to get the doctor notaries (which will require her going to our doctor's office after we get our physicals).  This is a great blessing as I'm pretty sure our doctor won't plan on traveling...

Mary has shooed me out of the kitchen so she can start writing her autobiography, putting those excellent English skills she has from her minor to work.  We may actually have all our home study materials together to hand in at orientation next week except for the medicals since our appointments aren't until mid next week.  However, we are still waiting to hear from our family coordinator as she was on vacation the same period I was off from work and expect to get a new long list of paperwork requirements from her that are unrelated or different from the home study requirements as she is the one working with us on the dossier requirements.  Writing is less on my to be excited about list... so my autobiography may wait till later this week.
