Rwanda-Day Four

Today, we started again at 5:30am and arrived at court by 7am. We spent a few hours in the parking lot outside, waiting for our POA to complete the necessary paperwork. We had to write a personal letter to the President of the court requesting an expedited court date. After the husbands signed off on the paperwork, we rushed to the orphanage, hoping to squeeze in a half hour of time with our kids. By the time we arrived and the kids were brought to us, it was 10:40. Visiting hours are from 9-11am. Gratefully, the sisters let us stay until 11:45. Baby girl was wide awake for most of the time again today, but fell asleep on my chest for the last 15 minutes.

Today, we spoke with one of the head Sisters about our daughter. She let us know that she arrived at the orphanage about 22 days after she was born and told us we would receive her entire file when she leaves the orphanage. We are hungry to know every detail about her life story. Again, the kind smile of the Sister let us know that she has been well cared for at Home of Hope.

After the orphanage, we went to Sola Luna for lunch and then to our rooms for an hour to rest.

By 2:30pm, we were back on the road to the orphanage.  Baby girl coo'd at us some today and then fell asleep again.  We love sitting in the courtyard of the orphanage with her, letting her feel the cool after-rain breeze on her face and watching her take in everything around her.

We took passport photos of the kids with our camera and a white towel background at the orphanage.  Doing this will save us all a lot of a time and effort to acquire these photos.

Tomorrow morning, we go to court.  We are hoping to get the ruling tomorrow so that we can move on to the next step.  If we don't get it tomorrow, we hope for Thursday.  Please pray it is tomorrow, though.  It'd be great to have our kids with us full-time by the end of the week!
